Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Shelton grew up in Corpus Christi and graduated from Mary Carroll High School. She earned her medical degree from Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine in 1995. Dr. Shelton joined Obstetrical and Gynecological Associates of Corpus Christi after completion of her residency in 1999. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, having earned her board certification in 2001.

Dr. Shelton is a partner in the South Texas Surgical Hospital and a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and the Nueces County Medical Society.

Her special interests are in the newer tubal sterilization techniques Filshee and Essure/Adiana, endometrial ablation techniques with Novasure, and surgical repair of urinary incontinence with mid-urethral sling procedures including Monarc. Some of these procedures are now offered in the office setting. Dr. Shelton has recently began performing minimally invasive surgeries using the Spohn hospital Da Vinci robotic device. Dr. Shelton and her husband have three sons and a daughter.
